Blue Magoo Excursions is a charter business based on Anna Maria Island, Florida, owned and operated by Captain Caleb O’Connor. The company offers inshore fishing trips and customizable cruises, including eco tours, sunset cruises, and excursions to Egmont Key.
Blue Magoo encourages families to book trips, as Captain Caleb is passionate about teaching kids how to fish and helping them develop a love for being on the water.
Captain Caleb has been fishing the local waters for over a decade. His experience includes navigating and fishing in Sarasota Bay, Palma Sola Bay, Tampa Bay, Terra Ceia Bay, the Manatee River, Egmont Key, and the waters off Anna Maria Island. Through years on the water, he’s gained extensive knowledge of local fish species, water conditions, and how tides affect where fish can be found.
Caleb O’Connor is a U.S. Coast Guard–licensed captain and holds a Florida State Captain’s Fishing License.
He earned his captain’s license shortly after graduating from Manatee High School in 2022.
Born and raised in Bradenton, Florida, Caleb has been fishing local waters since childhood. His favorite type of day on the water is finding and fishing a big school of redfish.
Outside of fishing, he enjoys spending time with family and watching sports.
Clients can expect Caleb to provide bait and tackle, keep hooks baited, unhook fish, assist with lines, and filet any fish that are kept. He also shares information about the local waters and fish species encountered during the trip.
All trips are operated aboard a 1972 Aquasport 22’2”, which was completely redone and customized in 2021.
The boat includes a bimini top for shade and cushioned seating for comfort during charters and tours.
It’s designed for inshore and nearshore use and is equipped for both fishing and sightseeing excursions.

Blue Magoo Excursions typically departs from the Kingfish Boat Ramp or Warner’s Bayou Boat Ramp, depending on client location.
Kingfish Boat Ramp is convenient for guests staying on Anna Maria Island, while Warner’s Bayou is convenient for guests staying in Bradenton who want to avoid island traffic.
The exact meeting location is discussed and confirmed with each client before the trip.
